Ok, I know I'm not a Modder, but I enjoy testing versions for bugs.

What I've found so far;-

I started with Beatrice Devlin in Jamaica & found that there is no Fast Travel.

Also found a Map without a middle.

Met a character without any face on the character screen.

Now I couldn't find any posts referring to these matters.
 
Anyone can help me in that to where and how can i get the new Black Pearl in the b14alpha7_plus in the starting? The internalsettings won't goin and the build settings or what is that Won't goin. So where can i change my starting ship?
 
I changed the locators for the ships in Isla Muelle, Port au prince and Conceição. If you are interested, try it :

Modding Jack Sparrow and the Standard Game (Also changed Beatrice to the Sir Christopher Mings version - like the way she walks better)

So far so good - one little problem - I am using Billy Brock for part of Jack Sparrow Quest but I cant get Billy's name to show up on his icon <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
All the other character names do show up correctly so far.
Billy I have moved (character names, dialog, quest reaction etc.) to the Jack Sparrow part of the Storyline - is there something else I need to move as well? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
 
Sounds pretty good. Strange about Billy's name. Does his name show up if he's in the regular storyline? Does the name of other Jack Sparrow quest-only characters show up properly?

BTW: Did you make a <i>RESOURCE\INI\TEXTS\ENGLISH\Storyline\LegendJackSparrow\characters_names.txt</i> file with Billy Brock's name in it? I imagine that you need to for the names of characters in the <i>PROGRAM\Storyline\LegendJackSparrow\characters\init</i> files to show up.

I have now added James Norrington back in (per original Sparrow Story), plus a new character and added their names to the Characters.names file.
They turn up - but, again no name on icon. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" /> I should also say that the names do not show up in the on screen dialog header either, in case that helps.
It doesn't seem to affect the game play, Billy's dialog and associated program actions work correctly, but obviously something is wrong. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

By the way - No soldiers present at Oxbay - I get this in the compile log:
CreateCharacter -> character Ox_soldier_1 can invalide model(1) or animation(man)
CreateCharacter -> character Ox_soldier_2 can invalide model(2) or animation(man)
Similar result for missing soldiers in the town.
 
It seems that you have some strange mix of new version with some older one...

I don't have soldiers in Redmond either. I have NO idea why. They were there not so long ago, but now they're gone. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wacko:" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />
I'm rather looking forward to some new code from you, Pirate_KK. I think that'd probably fix any weirdish mistakes that are in the current WIP 2 Pirate_KK version. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
 
As I mentioned I have modded the original game back to the original story line.
The Town guards ARE present when this version is played. So it must be an issue of how and what is loaded to each particular story line.

Just for chuckles I will add Billy Brock to this version temporarily to see what happens.

EDIT: Well, I added Norrington and Billy Brock into the "Standard Story".
The names on icons and dialog screens DID show up. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
Any ideas?
 
Further to the above 'EDIT':
I have just found that if I start the Jack Sparrow Story from the initial "story selection" menu - no town guards.
If I then quit the game on the f1 screen and start a new Jack Sparrow Story from there - the town guards appear (with their flag icons) and can be spoken to.
It doesn't change the character icon, or dialog page name issue though.
 
I now find that if I go to the Character Screen, select the screen for my "quest character" and then type in my quest character's name it does appear on the icon and the dialog page. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
 
That does suggest there's something wrong with the initializing of the name. Perhaps it's got to do with the file that is referenced in the init files or perhaps there's something wrong in the characters_names.ini file?

there's a way to solve the problem?

How did you install it? Are you sure you followed the instructions correctly? It should work if you do everything right.
 
Yes I followed the instructions and I removed all files with the words SOL or SOLD (animations, textures, characters .... etc.).
 
I installed the first Build 14 alpha 6 (deleting the folder RESOURCE) ships numbers, then I installed BUILD 14 alpha 8 wip, then I removed all models of the soldiers from the files (animations, model, etc.)
