take your time no one will rush you i was reading your comments and i know you had a hard time with it i'm sure no one will rush you just do it as you always do and you will find what's wrong now or later it doesn't matter as long as you find it you have my support just take your time arrrrggggg

I tried the same thing again; it didn't work.
At the moment I have no clue why this happens as it makes no sense to me.

Only thing I could still try is to hijack my sick brother's computer and try it on there instead.
If I can't get that to work, I have to do it on my own computer.
But unfortunately that means waiting until I'm no longer near reliable Internet.
Which means upload will be a royal pain, if I can make it work at all.

Not so awesome. And why? A complete mystery to me at the moment. :modding

Even using a completely different computer refuses to make it zip and unzip properly. What the holy crap is wrong with this?
Since when is it so stupidly difficult to just make a 7-Zip archive??? It just isn't working. And I'm left completely at a loss.
:modding :thumbsdown2 :ko :boom:

Well, that's a fly in the soup. It can't be because it is too big as modern games are heading into 30 gb territory.

I suspect some sort of 7-Zip compatibility issue.
Hopefully it'll work when I try it on my own computer.
But it sure throws a wrench in my release schedule. Now I don't know when I'll finally manage it.
One week? Two? :(

And naturally when I try on my own computer, the archive seems to have ended up perfectly fine.

Could it be a "program version" issue? I am running v9.20 myself, which is more than five years old!
As opposed to v15.14 which was the one causing problems for me and is only a few months old.

Long story short: I CAN make the needed archive again.
But now I again have no access to internet that is good enough to upload 4+ GB worth of data.
Maybe I can arrange to do that again over the weekend....

@Pieter Boelen Just a question: Im now playing version Mar 26, is that the latest working one?
Looks like I posted a ZIP on the 27th as well.
In the meantime, I have some small new stuff too, but I didn't post it yet.
Not sure if I should go through the trouble of putting that in a ZIP too or just include it all in the big archive this weekend.

It soon will be weekend so I think you can wait.;)
In case you do want the latest, it is basically the stuff posted in these three posts:
http://www.piratesahoy.net/threads/how-to-start-a-storyline.26646/page-13#post-534993 - Ardent update by @Grey Roger
Fixed - Saint Martin: Enemy Soldiers team up with Local Guards | PiratesAhoy! - Saint Martin "Ambush" correction by me
Fix in Progress - Queries Regarding False Flags | PiratesAhoy! - Behaviour for enemy ships at sea that did NOT recognize your false flag by me

Well, this is it. I finalized the final Beta 4.0 archive today AND tested it. It installs exactly like it should.
I have no time left and I think everything that needs doing has been done anyway. Therefore no further work will be done on Beta 4.0 itself.

I will take it home with me this weekend to upload it. And then it is finally time: PUBLIC RELEASE!!!! :dance

Upload finished for both mirrors.

PiratesAhoy! Build:
http://www.piratesahoy.net/build/potc/b14_beta4_final_installer.exe
http://www.piratesahoy.net/build/potc/b14_beta4_final.cab

Bowengames PotC:
http://piratesahoy.bowengames.com/potc/b14_beta4_final_installer.exe
http://piratesahoy.bowengames.com/potc/b14_beta4_final.cab

Tomorrow I'll submit it also to ModDB. And I'll need to write a release article too.
That'll take some doing as it should probably be short(ish), but there is a LOT of new stuff to cover.

happy to hear that so tonight i'll start downloading (HAHAHAH tomorrow My adventure will start with the brother of Alexander Putin Obama Putin is coming hahahaha Argggg)

So I made some final updates. Again:
- Enforced new game for Build 14 Beta 4.0 public release
- Removed superfluous on-screen log messages
- Removed some code responsible for instantly repairing ships you board

Which means I am now redoing the main archive. Again again.
I could do it as a "patch" I suppose, but I want this release to be a CLEAN install to make sure it is actually OK.

Ugh, getting Beta 4 ready for release is obnoxiously annoying to say the least.
Just too much last-minute messy code to deal with. :modding
