ok i did that,it's on the potc files, called rbray18's screen shots.there's 2 of isla muelle and 2 of antigua, pretty my the same but put 2 of each on just incase ya'd need them.thanks for helping me on this,i feel like such a n00b <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" /> lol.mabye ya could use one.i'll try to make more if ya think these are decent.

Thanks very much. The Isla Muelle one looks nice. Would be nice if on future shots of harbours, you could show a little more of the water, but that's not really important. Shame you don't have the F9 functionality to hide the interface, but we can cut the interface off. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />
As for the Antigua one, I'd recommend taking no screenshots in a storm, because you can hardly see a thing. Trick to get rid of a storm: Go to the tavern, stay there until nightfall, go out of the tavern, back in and stay there until day. The storm will be gone now. Of course Antigua looks completely different in the latest Build 14 Alpha's anyway, so we need a different screenshot anyway. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_confused.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="icon_confused.gif" />

For Redmond Port, I would take the picture from the road that leads to the Lighthouse (the road that's hiden by the silly Harbor master's house.)
See an exemple in my folder, that's just a suggestion of course... I'd be better with the ships along the quay.

If these are going to be loading screens, wouldn't it be best to take them with Anti-Aliasing and Anisotropic Filtering on for best quality?

Sorry, Nitpicking

Does the game even support those advanced techniques?

Havana, Philipsburg, Port au Prince, Santiago, Guadeloupe, Antigua, Tortuga and Douwsen Town have all been modified.

'They have to be resized to 512x512 anyway, so the quality wouldn't be incredible either way. Does the game even support those advanced techniques?'

Yep. Just go to your graphics control panel and you should be able to change AA and AS off of application controlled to whatever you fancy. For instance, I play the game with 4xAA and 8xAS and it looks so much better. Even on the rigging you can hardly see any jaggies, ad the water looks stunning!

Isn't that GFX-card dependent? In any case it probably would only work in fullscreen mode and in fullscreen mode it takes a lot longer for me to make the screenshots, because then I'd have to close down the game after each screenshot. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

Far as I know most cards can do this. You might need to download NView for Nvidia cards or the equivalent program for ATI ones, although you should be able to do it without. As for full-screen, I think it will work regardless of it being windowed, but don't quote me on that.

Here's a pic of Port-au-Prince

<a href="http://img90.imageshack.us/my.php?image=lookbehindyouathreeheadxd6.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/3759/lookbehindyouathreeheadxd6.th.jpg" border="0" class="linked-image" /></a>

Nice one. We could use that for Conceicao. Port au Prince looks different now, but Conceicao doesn't. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
What game version are you using at the moment? Build 13? Be sure to read this:<!--quoteo(post=242214:date=Mar 1 2008, 11:49 AM:name=Pieter Boelen)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pieter Boelen @ Mar 1 2008, 11:49 AM) <a href="index.php?act=findpost&pid=242214"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec--><!--quoteo(post=242188:date=Mar 1 2008, 06:12 AM:name=rbray14)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (rbray14 @ Mar 1 2008, 06:12 AM) <a href="index.php?act=findpost&pid=242188"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->anyother locations different from buiuld13?<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->Quite a lot, actually. Nope, I'm using 14.6r2. Strange. 13 crashes all the time on my comp, but this version is a stable as can be.

I think most location changes were done after Alpha 6 was done. Some are in Alpha 7, some are in Alpha 8 WIP 1.

for some places maybe we could use pictures from films etc, you may already be thinking this, but I felt like thrusting my oar in.

Only if we can find some really appropriate ones for real film-specific locations. Otherwise I think screenshots would feel more at home in the game. But it's a definite possibility. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Ok I will install the newest stuff you guys have (would that be a8 wip1?) throw on god mode grab a fast ship and do a world tour. Do you just want town views or are you also needing things like the lighthouse oxbay mines and the other special places? (of which I know very little btw)

Though I'm not sure if the most recent version of Antigua is actually IN Alpha 8 WIP 1. If it doesn't look like Redmond, then it IS the most recent version.
