New Location-specific Loading Screens

Cursor visible? WHO CARES??? <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" />
As for the lack of fading, that's too bad, but if that's the worst... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
How about putting text onto the loading screens through code?
And that progress reload bar you mentioned also sounded real nice. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

I see that Thomas has made some new style of loading screens, and maybe they are better than the stock POTC ones. Now I have already made a lot of loading screens to some of my new locations in the original stock POTC style. So...?

I'm just complaining because I had a terrible job cutting out each letter to spell new words - and besides that it looked rather good (I think). Thanks anyway. I'm trying to insert an image and they ask for the URL - what to came after that http:// the adress to my desktop or what?

When I finish those "reload-interfaces" manual drawing of letters won't be necessary because all texts would be put through code. In fact, now I have a job of putting all letters of the style reload screens uses into one font file.

pirate_kk that sounds very good. Personally I would prefer the original style style of letters - I think they're rather elegant together with the flying banner.

We'll probably need to re-do all screenshots for all reload screens, don't we?
Hopefully I'll have some time to assist with that once I return from sea. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Thank you Pieter.

My understanding then is that you will have all loading screens' text removed and replaced in code?

I had done some screens that were to be used in the A&M so I might still have the fonts ... somewhere.

This is what one looked like, I added the banner as well.

Well, I can search for the font if it is still needed.

I trust the text of my ship repair screen won't be changed.

Just to be very sure before a big job: I've made a lot of "new" locations for my quest - can I start producing 'blank' (no banner or text) loading screens?
How is the banner gonna work - is it 1 standard for all text despite of the text lenght? (And in the same colour?) I want to know how much of the picture that is hidden. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mellow.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":|" border="0" alt="mellow.gif" />

Indeed; you just need to make a screenshot.
As far as how it will all end up, I do now know.
We need Pirate_KK to give us some information on that. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

Loading screen would now need to be a pure picture without any texts. It can be a screenshot but without any interface pictures (like officers icons, log text, etc.). In Build 14A8 it should be possible to hide interface on land by pressing F8.

Soooo .... are you guys still using my ship repair screen and do you need a clean (no text) version of it?

I don't recall seeing that screen recently, yet I don't recall removing it either.
VERY strange. In any case, I wouldn't mind it being reinstated.
And as such I wouldn't mind a text-less version either. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/no.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":no" border="0" alt="no.gif" />

This is what we were talking about. In Build 13 it is used when preparing for a new expedition after dividing the plunder. Those were the closest we ever got to matching the stock fonts. Cat gave them to me.

Here is the image without text.

Thanks Petros; do you still have those fonts somewhere?
BTW: Now that you <i>are</i> showing that loading screen, do you happen to have a version without JPG compression?
The one currently in the Build looks a bit bad because of the compression artifacts, so I'd like to replace it with a cleaner version. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />
As far as I'm aware, it should still be used in Build 14.

Yes, they are around somewhere, I'll post them in this thread.

No I don't but I could reconstruct another clean one in tga, as I have the original photoshop file I used for that.
