Sir Christopher, you should try your target practice with a Gunboat - one cannon, less chance of hitting something (like the hull) inadvertently. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

I avoid those chests out of habit due to the fact that I found them while playing the original game.

Raiding those chests gave me a reputation hit, and you all remember how hard it was to get a good rep in the original game, right?

I like the fact that you can use sidestep to get better angles for some screen shots.

Also, if a room is too small for you to back up to get a wide angle shot, you can go behind a desk or chest, or even take the shot from inside a wall.

Now if someone could figure out how to make side step work up/down!

Up/down? Very simple.
You just modify character Y pos instead of x/z pos.
In fact, up down is _way_ simpler because you don't need to do any trig calculations.

You can just put a copy of the sidestep function's code (it's in characters.c I believe) into the console and then delete everything but the lines
float x,y,z
GetCharacterPos()
and Teleport()

(the function names are from memory here and wrong BTW... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" /> )
and in the teleport line, change it to Teleport(PChar,x,y+N,z);

where N is the amount you want to move up per F12 press.
 
Note that you can also mod sidestep so it's forward/back step, while still ignoring clipping.
Just delete the line where PI/2 is added to the angle.

Ah, sorry. I'm often a bit cryptic.

Here you go:
Put this in console.c, directly above the LogIt("Executed Console"); line.

Then hit F12 while in a location and you will warp up.
You can change 0.4 to whatever amount you like (make it negative to warp down instead of up).
