Praise, comments, questions and suggestions

Not really. In fact, the game works perfectly other then those two things. Im just cursed I guess. *looks at skelatal hand* Oh well.

Though I did find out that the 0kb file does indeed need to exist in order for the game to work, even if there is nothing there. Is there other logs then just the one associated with the main error log?

The settings in BuildSettings.h are set properly, because I just made a clean install and didn't do anything about it yet. I'll be doing it again for about the 101st today and I'll try and find out when the problem is caused.

BTW: That was not the only problem. There were several more, such as governir nieces/daughters not showing up even though the governor did say they would. Only after completing the main quest would a daughter show up and stay (sometimes they just disappeared before being able to talk to them). I'll try and see what I can find out when reinstalling. I believe something in the latest update causes some trouble, but I am not sure of that at all.

Just made a clean reinstall of PotC, Build 11 on top and then Build 12 (with no updates or anything whatsoever): Still `sail-to` works like in the stock game. Am I just completely insane???

Cap'n McNil, use ModHelper to start the game anew at the locations where you're having this problem, perhaps we can get to the root of the problem if we have an error report...

Barring that, NathanKell is around - email him a savegame and tell him what's wrong, I think he can hack into the savegame and figure it out for ya...

I don't know what else to tell you (other than what I've already suggested), Pieter, on your troubles. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> Did you check the `sail-to` settings like I mentioned?

Ok where is the modhelper? For some reason, I can now sail to any ship without it saying I cant. I would rather not reinstall... Thanks.

Anyway: Since I made a clean reinstall without changing anything to BuildSettings.h, that is not the problem. I just made a test and set #define SAILTO_MIN_DISTANCE to 9999999999999999999999999999999999. That should disable sailto in all cases, shouldn't it? But still it works like the stock game. Time does pass when sailing to, but it is not disabled when you are too close under any circumstance. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" />

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" /> Since I did not do that mod, and have no idea how to tweak it, I am sorry but I don't know what to tell you on why it's not working anymore. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> Sorry. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="ohmy.gif" />

Shame. Hope someone else will be able to. It's quite annoying. I know it has worked once, but can't remember with what Build version. Might've been Build 11.99e, or an early Build 12...

LOL! My first ever post! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/24.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rofl" border="0" alt="24.gif" />

Yep, and <b><u>we</u> </b>have been at this modding for so long.
Too bad <b><u>I</u></b> haven't learned that much.

<!--quoteo(post=92880:date=Jan 29 2005, 10:03 AM:name=Pieter Boelen)--><div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pieter Boelen @ Jan 29 2005, 10:03 AM) <a href="index.php?act=findpost&pid=92880"><{POST_SNAPBACK}></a></div><div class='quotemain'><!--quotec-->I updated my <a href="http://millenniumdock.bravepages.com/storage/others/PotCMods.zip" target="_blank">PotCMods.zip</a> file to change it into a `sort-of` cumulative update for Build 12, adding everything I managed to properly add to the game that wasn't yet in it with the Build 12 installation. Maybe Catalina or somebody else can use this file as a basis for a real Build 12 update.

Anyway, the following things were included:
- Everything that was originally in the file (as stated in my first post in this thread)
- Alan Smithee's blacksmith mod (+ I fixed the bug where you couldn't get into Falaise de Fleurs through Octopus Bay anymore)
- Alan Smithee's brace of pistols mod (but I haven't tested that myself yet)
- Alan Smithee's Captain Hook skin (now buyable from the QC tailor - seems to work fine)
- Catalina's new characters
- Petros's greybeard skin
- Petros's lady portraits (+ the skins are now buyable from the countries he suggested)
<!--coloro:red--><span style="color:red"><!--/coloro-->Please note:<!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc--> Most of these will only work in a new game.

This file seems to work fine when extracting it straight on top of a clean Build 12 installation. Hope nobody minds that I have done this; if so, I'll get it off again as soon as I can.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Indeed we've been at this since the same time; you joined before I did.
I find it hard to believe you didn't learn so much though.
Unless you already knew everything about skinning, that is... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />
Or otherwise I find it hard to believe that I <i>did</i> learn much! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/razz.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":razz" border="0" alt="razz.gif" />

2004, erh? Man...I´m pretty sure you guys own the world record in modding one single game for 5 years! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cheers.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="cheers.gif" />

Petros: You learned something. You managed to install yourself in your very own mansion - officially in the build mod. Part of the crew, part of the ship hehe..

I´d still like to see that Hooters bar Catalina is talking about, tho <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wub.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wub.gif" />
