I haven't seen that before. In fact in my new game I was not seeing any battles at all until just recently at level 12 or so.

It's been a bit quiet so here are some screenies. Land combat and capturing a merchant pinnace. That ship was escorted by two frigates so we shot the masts off one and chased the other one off, then captured the prize and sailed away.

Pearls old and new. Behind, the Black Pearl as she was after I captured her and changed sails to whole white in Build 13. In front, the Black Pearl after I captured her and released her from the curse in Build 14.

(Actually the Build 13 "Pearl" is a 5th Rate Warship, part of a French group which I met on the way to Bridgetown after taking the Pearl. I believe it's the same model as was used for the Pearl in Build 13, including the same cross insignia on the stern.)

Ah! The REAL Black Pearl and the stock game one (used as "Lineship" these days). Cool!

I don't recall seeing anything called "lineship" in Build 14 - as I said, the one in the picture is a 5th rate warship. But I do remember the lineship from Build 13, which was similar to the Black Pearl but with a different colour scheme. If that really is around in Build 14, I'm going to have to repaint the new Pearl as the Wicked Wench and then go and find one so as to get another picture.

The model files are still known as "Lineship", but she shows up in the game as "5th Rate Warship" because we changed all the type descriptions to be more accurate.
She is the one shown on your screenshot.

Some shots of my personal frigate. I based it off the corvette1 texture but recolored parts, darkened it up a bit, changed the windows, and added my ship name to the back along with a personal flag.

I don't think you can. Not any way I know of in any case.

Those aren't town lights. The fortress has just come second in a shooting contest - the winner, moored serenely in the bay, is the Sovereign of the Seas.

In Tortuga he was found, to Tortuga he will return. Joshamee Gibbs is about to be left there following his promotion; he's to become the new governor.

Quite a career path for him! Starting out as drunken sailor, ending up as governor in the place.

I am also impressed by the way the AI followed my into St. Johns. I did not expect them to go there.

That is a very nice blade - bit too flashy for me I prefer the rugged "seen it's fair share" type blades for my character
