Build 14 Alpha 9

I recall you saying there is a to be a different system for larger ships as opposed to frigates etc. Can this be confirmed? I wotn do the descrs for those just yet ;)
Doober already did this in Alpha 9.5 Patch 4; all ship types have been reclassified and renamed.
There's now much less different ship type names than there used to be.

I recommend you install the Build 14 Alpha 10 WIP file though;
then you can see what the current new Shipyard interface is like.
At the moment, the descriptions are seperate for each and every ship
because they're used to distinguish between different ships in the Appearance interface.
Eventually we'd want to use screenshots for this though and then the descriptions can be type-dependent.
 
OK then I think what I did was forget to reset everything before playing :rolleyes: . The amount of times Ive installed the mod there really isnt any xcuse for that is there :urgh
I sometimes forget something too. I'll be glad once Alpha 10 is done and it'll be an easy install again. :facepalm
 
I have a problem with Build 14 Alpha 9.5 Patch 4. Sometimes when i capture a ship and go to the worldmap, the game crashes. This happened to in Build 13. Is there anyone that has this problem to or is just me, and if someone knows what this problem is, how can i fix it?
 
yep i get the same prob,seems mostly to happen with the ships listed as game breaking in the ship mod forum,i sometimes get it when i escort or capture a certain ship,pinnance most often
or the war galleon that is used for the black pearl.
 
But those ships are listed as "gamebreaking" due to incorrect walk patches.
That's nothing that should cause a CTD. Especially not on the worldmap. :shock
 
I don´t know if this has any relation to the Build 14, but when i attack the fort of the portuguese city in La Grenade, i destroy it, fight the soldiers inside it, then i go to the port but there is no one there, i can´t go to the city or to my ship. What am i suposed to do?
 
Somebody needs to make sure that ALL town locations get their boarding locators.
At the moment, some towns work and some don't. :modding
 
Thanks for clearing. Now, i´d like to say that this Build is simply amazing. In my opinion ti is as playable as Build 13.
For me, the ships are the most important, and the Dutchman is perfect, very nice guys, it is a very good job. :onya
 
hi i have another bug i just found.i can't start a new game.not sure why it started.
but i have a saved game i can play but now that i have cuthroat island music selected
i can't start a new game.i guess i do know when it started doh :shrug .

edited to ad the logs,and i've tried switching the music selection seems to do nothing.
i'll look and see if i can spot anything else to add.

ok did some more testing,seems something is wrong with the assain story line,all other story lines are working.may just be i did something on accident but i'm not sure.can't remember if i tried
playing the assian quest before on build 14 alpha 9.5 patch 4 but i don't remember
this happing before :?
 
What do you mean? Once you have started a game OR loaded a game, you cannot start a new game.
UNTIL you close the game fully, that is.
This is done intentionally to prevent worse bugs if you start a game but already had one loaded.
 
sorry i meant when i 1st start the game,select new game.pick assain story line it loads
then goes to the main options menu right away.and i noticed on la criox's story line that something
is wrong too.after the duel at the beging the spanish soliders are stuck at the entrance to the shore.i'm starting to think it may just be my game though.
 
I've got that Nathan Kell governor dialog thing fixed in the Alpha 10 WIP file.
For the soldiers, could you please try again?
 
Does the lead soldier talk to you at all and teleport you to jail?
I tested that part several times and it works for me... :?
 
nope,after the npc's death nothing else happens,no quest book updates no talking.
and going on to hopital does no good either,quest just dead ends there. :shrug
it's most likely some error in my game.i love the build mod
but i always end up having to do 30 billion reinstalls :rolleyes:
i'll try looking in my alpha 9 patch 4 game and my alpha 10 wip game and see if i can find the missing stuff for both,cause in my wip game several textures don't load or aren't there.and the screen is weird.it's too big for my screen.i fear i may just have to reinstall again doh'well .
 
That doesn't sound right. Do you have a system.log or a screenshot of the missing textures?
